Town and Country Veterinary Clinic and Emergency Hospital is excited to offer veterinary students and veterinary technician students valuable hands-on training and mentorship opportunities. Our 24-hour hospital, staffed by more than 10 licensed veterinarians, provides an exceptional learning environment. With a history of hosting students for over 30 years, our externship programs can be tailored to your educational and professional goals. These programs encompass in-depth medical training for both routine and emergency care, exposure to a variety of surgical procedures, and insights into the business aspects of veterinary practice. Externship durations can range from 1 to 4 weeks, depending on your school’s requirements.

Our externships are currently open to 3rd and 4th-year veterinary students, as well as veterinary technician students currently enrolled in a program. During your veterinary student externship, you’ll gain valuable medical skills and become an integral part of our welcoming and collaborative culture. Working closely with our senior veterinarians, you’ll have the opportunity to rotate within our team, gaining exposure to various practice approaches. Our state-of-the-art hospital’s high caseload of interesting cases provides an excellent platform to expand your knowledge.

For veterinary technician students, our externship program is tailored to offer specialized education and professional development. Throughout your 1-4 week externship, you’ll acquire essential medical skills and immerse yourself in our practice culture. Similar to veterinary students, you’ll closely collaborate with our senior doctors and experience rotations within the team to enhance your skill set. Our technology externships are open to students enrolled in accredited programs.

If you’re eager to learn and looking for an enriching experience in a high-quality small animal practice, please don’t hesitate to contact our HR manager, Amanda White, for further information. Your journey towards expanding your knowledge and skills can begin here.
