Community Engagement at Town and Country Veterinary Clinic

At Town and Country Veterinary Clinic, we are deeply committed to giving back to our community and serving families in the New River Valley and its surrounding areas. Here are some of the ways we actively support our community:

Kitten Adoption Program

Our Kitten Adoption Program has been a vital part of our efforts to reduce the stray and feral cat population while finding loving forever homes for over 400 kittens since 2015. All our stray kittens and cats undergo testing for Feline Leukemia and FIV before adoption. They are also up-to-date on vaccinations and dewormed, and many are spayed/neutered if age-appropriate. We require an adoption fee and an agreement to continue their health care. For more information on kitten adoption, please contact Michele, our Kitten Adoption Coordinator.

Montgomery County K9 Units

We recognize the invaluable service provided by working and service canines in keeping our community safe by detecting narcotics, and explosives, and aiding in criminal apprehension. To ensure these dedicated canines receive top-notch veterinary care, we provide thorough yearly physical examinations, vaccinations, and routine bloodwork at no cost. Additionally, we educate handlers about potential medical issues that can arise in the line of duty.

Bi-Annual Client Appreciation Day

Twice a year, we express our gratitude to both our loyal clients and potential new ones by inviting them to join us in celebration! This event includes complimentary nail trims, grooming consultations, vendor giveaways, and delicious food. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out to [email protected].

MCFACC

We support MCFACC, a local animal shelter that has significantly reduced euthanasia rates by actively rehoming abandoned, surrendered, and stray animals. To aid in providing necessary veterinary care to these animals, we offer reasonably priced general veterinary services. Our mission is to ensure their health before they find their forever homes through MCFACC.

At Town and Country Veterinary Clinic, our commitment to the community extends beyond veterinary care. We believe in making a positive impact on the lives of animals and people in our region.

The Veterinary Care Foundation

The Veterinary Care Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable foundation established to help veterinary practices provide discounted or no-cost care to hardship cases. Every contribution to the Veterinary Care Foundation goes directly to enhancing the quality of life for pets and their owners. Our clients can easily donate in our office (by check made payable to the Veterinary Care Foundation) or online.

Military War Dogs

Our active military canines play a crucial role in our armed forces, serving as trackers, and sentries, and in search and rescue operations. To support these brave soldiers, we send care packages overseas. You can contribute by donating items such as K-9 cooling mats, vests, nail clippers, brushes, or heavy-duty chew toys. We also encourage item donations for dog handlers, including chapstick, sunblock, writing materials, chewing gum, and beef jerky.
