We know, as pet owners ourselves, that our clients and their owners need the best veterinary care possible, regardless of the time of day. While most veterinary needs, including shots, spays, and grooming, will still be handled during our daytime hours, we also know that medical emergencies do not just occur during "normal" operating hours. Whether it is the middle of the night, early morning, late evening, or during our "normal hours," we are here to help.

If you have a medical emergency or you would just like to pick up your pet on the way home after a late flight or long trip, call our office at 540-382-5042.

We have a veterinarian and veterinary technicians onsite, 24 hours per day.

OUR SERVICES

Town & Country Veterinary Clinic provides inpatient and outpatient care for all emergency or critical care cases. We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for your pets during hours when your regular veterinarian’s office is closed. Both referrals and walk-ins are welcomed. If possible, please call us in advance of your arrival to advise us of the nature of the emergency. We will be happy to provide you with advice on the proper transport of your pet to our facility.

Town & Country Veterinary Clinic provides emergency and critical care for monitoring your pet when your regular veterinarian’s office is closed. Town & Country Veterinary Clinic offers 24 hour care for critically ill animals as well.

We understand that your pet is a special member of your family and you want to respond to a health emergency with your pet as quickly as possible. Town & Country Veterinary Clinic is a caring extension of your family veterinarian. We exist to meet the needs of your pet and primary care veterinarian by offering emergency and critical care services.

Our veterinarians have a special interest in emergency medicine and will insure that your
pet receives the highest quality of appropriate and necessary medical treatment. Our
entire staff is devoted to providing a caring environment, treating both you and your pets with dignity, kindness and respect.

EMERGENCY CARE

Town & Country Veterinary Clinic is a specialized animal critical care facility. Our state-of-the-art veterinary care facility and highly trained veterinarians and technicians can handle any pet emergency, from a small laceration to major trauma. Your pet will receive all required treatments, monitoring and pain management.

We utilize the most advanced technology and expertise currently available offering digital x-rays, laser surgery, in-house computerized diagnostic lab services, IV Pumps, and blood transfusions.

We tailor treatment protocols to fit your resources and special needs, providing the optimum course of therapy to fit your pets situation. We will work with you and your regular veterinarian as a team to give you the peace of mind that your pet will receive the medical care he or she requires at any hour, in any emergency.

PATIENT TRANSFER

All patients requiring ongoing care following emergency services can be transferred to their family veterinarian the next business day. Please ask about our transport van service. It is encouraged to follow up care of your pet with your regular veterinarian following emergency care received at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

Town & Country Veterinary Clinic is located at 1605 North Franklin Street in the south end (lower end) of the Northgate Shopping Center at the corner of Cambria Street and North Franklin Street.

From Blacksburg (or West 460), take the Downtown Christiansburg exit and stay in the left lane. Take a left at the light at Cambria Street (first light) and turn right into the Northgate Shopping Center.

From I-81. Take US 460 (3B) towards Blacksburg. Take the second Christianburg exit (Downtown Exit) and go to the first light (Cambria Street). Turn left on Cambria and turn right into the Northgate Shopping Center.

From southern Montgomery County, Floyd County, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, take Route 8 north into Christiansburg. Take a left on Depot Street (second light) and then a left on Franklin Street (second light). Town & Country Veterinary Clinic is located behind the McDonalds in the Northgate Shopping Center.

OUR FEES

Emergency care can be very costly, reflecting the state-of-the-art facilities and professional staff needed to provide emergency and critical care. Each admission involves an emergency fee and examination. Following the examination, treatment options will be discussed and a Healthcare Plan will be provided for the cost of any additional veterinary services. You are encouraged to discuss any fees and treatment options with our professional staff. A deposit based on the cost of the Healthcare Plan will be required for any animal being admitted to the hospital. Payment in full is required at the time of discharge. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and cash. Personal checks will be accepted only with check approval and proper identification must be provided.
